Ride Fatbikes is a supporter of a variety of fatbike races. Our own Fatbike Frozen Forty (Triple F) is part of the Great Lakes Fatbike Series, as is another great Minnesota fatbike race, the Cuyuna Lakes Whiteout. The Whiteout more than doubled its size in its second year, and the event (in our observation at least) was a terrific success. Fun was had by all, thanks in part to the great work of the Cuyuna Lakes Mountain Bike Crew, race director Aaron Hautala, Nick Statz, and a huge number of volunteers, sponsors, and racers.
Since we had the opportunity to participate in the Friday night Fatbike ride at the Yawkey unit, and photograph the Sagamore unit Snowcross race today (Saturday), we’ll share some of our observations in an upcoming post. In the meantime, we want to share a few photos. Since we took over 700 photos, it takes some effort to pick the “best”. So here’s what we plan to do. We’ll offer a sneak peak at some of our favorites in this post. in the next couple of days, we’ll show as many more as we can reasonably accommodate in an additional post.
Then (in about a week), we’ll upload the bulk of the photos to Flickr, so people can download and use the photos they like. When we get that done, we’ll add a post here as well as share that update with the Cuyuna crew so anyone looking for our photos can find them. All we ask is that you credit RideFatbikes.com if you choose to share or distribute these photos.
Congrats to everyone who made the Cuyuna Whiteout a success, and thanks to the communities of Crosby, Ironton, and Deerwood, who were gracious hosts.

Thanks for this, Brad. I like the approach, ie, a little blogging plus some photos now, and more blogging and photos to come.
I’m looking forward to it.
